Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she finished second in the 200 meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school having signed a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas and then enrolled in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. In 2005, she became the youngest 200-meter world champion at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top three places in all her competitions.
